A Natural Cure for Eczema

Welcome to my natural cure for eczema web site.

That natural cure for eczema you’re looking for might just might be sitting on this web site or in your food pantry.

I don’t think there is one singular item that is a natural cure for eczema or atopic dermatitis.

As described here, the protocol I used to heal the eczema on my feet and legs is based on cited medical studies and late night reading of blog posts.

A Natural Cure for Eczema

My own eczema cure involved mostly late night education.

More specifically, a lot of late night Google searches, reading blogs and medical studies that suggest yes, eczema does have a cure. However, it may not be a single herb, pill, or over-the-counter mega-mart supplement.

I am not a doctor. Nor am I offering medical advice. Everything I talk about on this web site are n=1 experiments on myself, that I have done in an effort to heal the eczema on my feet and legs.

Much of what you might read and hear in popular culture and headlines suggests that eczema is a disease with no known cure and that one can only manage the symptoms. That is why I set up this web site.

After one-to-many of those radio infomercials looking for volunteers for yet another medical study, I decided it was time for another viewpoint.

Maybe experimental drugs are the answer. Or, maybe they aren’t?

Everyone is different, and everyone responds differently. But, a more all natural cure for eczema has worked for me — so far anyway.

I’m not trying to sell you anything. What follows are the conclusions from what I learned, and how I applied this information towards my own search for a natural cure for eczema? Yes, some of this might already be in your food pantry?

My Eczema Story

Since November 2018, I have been symptom free. Free of that incessant itching, the peeling skin, and the scratching, the rubbing, and bleeding of those shredded patches of raw skin. That bloody raw midnight scratching, and sleepless nights, I hope, are a memory of the past.

This is the longest I have been symptom free.

My own eczema was not mega-severe like some of the images you might find on the internet.

In 2016, I developed large scaly red eczema patches appearing on the top of each foot. After a few weeks, I checked in with the Doc. Atopic dermatitis. I went home with samples a topical cream and other samples of spray called Tropicort.

Did it work? Well, daily use of the Tropicort spray application seemed to knock it back. But it was not the eczema cure I was looking for.

The cream was without question — useless. I have no idea what that was, other than a copay down the drain.

With the Tropicort spray, the eczema itching seemed to somewhat dissipate. Just for a short while, only to appear again. However, this time, it moved to the top of my right foot and ankle area.

To knock back this latest flare-up on the right foot, I used up all of the remaining Tropicort spray. I also found an over the counter cream, TriDerma, Eczema Fast Healing Face and Body Cream that helped moisturize the area. Eventually, the eczema subsided.

The Eczema Just Kept Coming Back

However, it wasn’t long before another patch appeared. I went back to using the TriDerma, Eczema Fast Healing Face and Body Cream and a selection of other over the counter products. These products temporarily eased the itching, but nothing I tried would knock it back.

I’m just chasing the symptoms around my body. I was not addressing the root cause.

To sum it up, that is my eczema story.

If you’re still reading this, this might be similar your story also?

Oh yeah, I’m a middle aged average guy who works inside all day long and enjoys getting outside and active on the weekends and after the work day has ended.

Can Eczema Be Cured

I wasn’t just Googling long hours for eczema symptoms and treatments. My goal, I wanted to find and understand the root cause, and then, understand the available treatments. I wanted to know — can eczema be cured?

So, the conclusions I talk about here, flawed or not, is my story, and what worked for me.

I do provide links to products purchased by me, that I use based on my research. You might be able to find retailers for these same or similar products near your home. Those down-the-road nearby mega-marts aren’t known for providing a good consumer selection. Hence a mail-order preference.

Alternative Cures For Eczema

After many long nights of Googling eczema keywords, I pieced together a hypothesis for a natural cure for eczema.

The conclusion was that eczema is an autoimmune problem. My immune system was attacking my body. This autoimmune condition was a result of a leaky gut. And, this leaky gut was probably months or years in the making, a result of diet, nutrition, medication, or something else I may have been exposed to.

What follows in these pages is my routine to repair my leaky gut and rebuild the gut flora. Repair the leaky gut and the eczema should resolve as the body heals itself.

I can’t point to any one item over another as being more effective, or point to just one thing that worked better than another did.

Why?

Because I started doing a number of these things at once — my anti-eczema protocol. I’ll talk about that in the pages that follow.

The sum and substance of this web site is my own natural cure for eczema.

In short, this protocol has significantly helped my eczema. I hesitate to say the word cured. But, it’s gone for now. In a year, in November 2019, maybe I’ll change this wording.

So, in hindsight, these were and are my goals

1) healing my leaky gut
2) rebuild and maintain a normal gut flora
3) minimize activities causing future autoimmune and leaky gut problems

My Anti-Eczema Protocol

I’ll say this part again. I am not a doctor. I am not offering anyone medical advice here. Everything I talk about are things I have done in an effort to cure my eczema at home, or put it into remission.

what is a leaky gut?
stop using Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID) such as ibuprofen
oolong tea for eczema
l-glutamine supplements to heal and repair a leaky gut
zinc carnosine supplements to heal and repair a leaky gut
● psyllium husk, flax seed, resistant starch cocktail to nourish healthy gut microbiome
● probiotics to help kick start and maintain a healthy gut microbiome
● clean up my diet
● personal hygiene and cleaning products

I literally started the oolong tea, l-glutamine, zinc carnosine supplementation on the same day, when my Amazon order arrived.

The psyllium husk, flax meal, and potato starch cocktail and probiotic supplements started a week later. I tried to source these locally, but had to place another Amazon order.

Too many personal care products are loaded chemicals that are absorbed by your skin and into your body. Reading product labels is part of my shopping experience. I found nearly-natural or minimally processed alternatives to most every personal hygiene product.

My Anti-Eczema Protocol Results

What I noticed first was the constant itchiness went away. It just disappeared.

But, those red flakey skin patches took longer to heal, nearly two months for the redness to fade into nearly normal skin tones. What remains is a darkish pigment patch that is slowly fading.

I don’t have before images of my eczema patches. Unfortunately, I really didn’t think about a web site until after it went into remission and I started hearing those radio infomercials.

I now spend considerable time reading and researching information on gut health, autoimmune, and eczema. It’s like a hobby now. As a result, these pages will talk about the information I found and how I incorporate that information into my daily routine.

Way too many web sites try to sell we eczema sufferers some proprietary product for symptom relief, not here. I’m writing about what worked for me in my own n = 1 experiments in fixing the root cause of my eczema.
